Mugove Nyika

Mugove is a natural farmer and a community development facilitator focused on building resilience and food sovereignty in African communities. His mission is to use his life skills, land use design skills, and passion for the environment and community to listen, encourage and inspire people to look after themselves and the environment for the common good. Over the last three decades, he has played a central role in the development of the integrated land-use design (ILUD) process as a tool for inclusive and participatory whole school land design and community engagement. He is also an Ecovillage development facilitator and a member of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) Africa Advisory Council.

Mugove has a passion for connection to nature and community and to sharing this with everyone but especially the young as the custodians of the future. He has worked with communities and organisations across the African continent and facilitated the founding of the Regional Schools and Colleges Permaculture (ReSCOPE) Programme in 2006 and the hosting of the International Permaculture Convergence in 2009 in Malawi. He is the Founding President of the Friends of International Permaculture Convergences (FIPC).
